Sure it’s known for the cheese but this cozy town offers so much more. Stunning bay views, fresh seafood & a budding art scene make Tillamook a hidden gem. Don’t sleep on Tillamook, add it to your Oregon Coast itinerary asap!

Pacific City 🏄‍♂️
While everyone flocks to Cannon Beach, Pacific City remains a peaceful respite. The iconic Haystack Rock, miles of sandy beach & some of the best surfing on the coast. Pacific City is the perfect low-key spot to unplug and unwind. Who’s ready for a Pacific City getaway?

Coos Bay ⚓
Oregon’s largest coastal town is majorly slept on. A working fishing port, rugged coastline, world-class golf & a downtown & marina packed with shops and restaurants. Coos Bay has something for everyone. It’s time this underrated spot gets the attention it deserves!

What I learned after moving to the Oregon Coast…

No one warns you how quickly your nervous system adjusts to slower mornings, ocean air & and a life with more connection to the earth & your community .

You stop measuring your days by traffic and start measuring them by tides, weather, sunsets, and whether the mountains are out.

I learned the Oregon Coast isn’t just a vacation place. For a lot of people, it becomes the first place they’ve actually felt at home in a long time.

Yes, winter storms are real.
Yes, small-town life is different.
And yes, you’ll probably end up owning more hoodies than formal clothes.

But you also get community, beauty, quieter living & access to nature in a way that changes you.

8 things that can make people regret their Oregon Coast home after closing:

1. The wind is strong enough to rearrange your patio furniture or steal your trampoline.

2. Salt air slowly destroys cars, decks, grills, and sometimes your patience

3. Tourists triple the population in summer. Everything gets busier…. Service & traffic is slower.

4. Winter is gray. Like… really gray. Summers on the beach don’t get over maybe 10 windless 80° days.

5. Coastal maintenance can cost more & take longer than people expect.

6. Some homes are in tsunami or flood zones. If you’re next to the water you can’t avoid it. But sometimes you don’t know the flood zone is there. Don’t forget to check your flood &/or tsunami maps before heading out to look for homes.

7. You will be driving up to 1.5-2 hours minimum for basic amenities such as Whole Foods, Target, Nordstrom, Winco, Chik Fil A etc.

8. The quiet lifestyle isn’t for everyone.

But here’s the secret most buyers miss:
Location on the coast matters more than the house.

POV: The deal didn’t fall apart during inspection… it fell apart AFTER. 😳

One of the wildest situations I’ve dealt with on the Oregon Coast real estate market was a buyer who was ALSO an agent. They were out of their inspection contingency but still couldn’t come to terms on a major repair with my seller. The problem? Once you’re out of inspection, your leverage changes fast.

A lot of people think earnest money just automatically goes back to the buyer if a deal crashes. Not true.

This situation got so serious I had to involve my principal broker, who then had to speak directly with their principal broker. Everything had to be documented correctly. Every timeline mattered. Every signature mattered.

In the end, my seller retained the earnest money because the buyer was contractually past their contingency deadlines and refused to move forward.

Real estate on the Oregon Coast isn’t just pretty views and beach houses. The negotiations, timelines, and contracts can make or break a deal fast.

The craziest part? I later heard from other agents that the buyer had a hard time getting another offer accepted after this situation. Small town real estate travels FAST in places like Tillamook County, Manzanita, Rockaway Beach, and Cannon Beach.

Moral of the story:
If you’re buying a home in Oregon, know your timelines. And if you’re negotiating repairs, understand what happens once contingencies expire.

Moving to the Oregon Coast for love was not the plan. Honestly? I was a city girl. I liked convenience. I liked noise. I liked being able to get food delivered at midnight and having something to do on a Tuesday.

And then my special guy was out here on the Oregon Coast and I was like… okay fine.

The first few years were an adjustment, not gonna lie. The quiet felt loud. Everything closed early. I missed my people.

But somewhere between the tide pools, the farmers markets, and waking up to actual fresh air; something switched. 🌿

Now I look back at city life and genuinely wonder how I did it. The traffic. The noise. The feeling of being surrounded by a million people and still somehow completely disconnected.

Out here it’s slower. More real. You actually talk to your neighbors. You actually notice the seasons change. You actually feel like a person again.
